ACTION! 4 Short-Form Video Tips to Help You Make Movie Magic

Short-form video is the number one form of content capturing eyes and ears online right now, but many businesses are hesitant to get started making and posting this kind of content for their business. Many fear they don’t have the technical knowledge to deal with filming and editing, some are camera shy, and others just don’t think they have the time! Short-form video doesn’t have to be scary, so here are four tips to help you get started!

  1. Invest in (some) equipment!

No one is expecting Oscar-winning camera work from your Reels or TikToks, but having a stable tripod for your phone or camera can make a world of difference when it comes to video quality! A view that doesn’t shake or shudder is one less distraction for the viewer, allowing them to pay better attention to whatever may be the subject of your video!

     2. Learn how the platform works!

Take time to explore and experiment with the software you plan on using to create your content! Most platforms are designed with the user in mind, and if it’s your first time using the features there may be tutorial popups you have to click through before using them. Record some clips, add music, experiment with transitions, etc., until you’re comfortable making content!

     3. Get others involved!

If you’re still struggling with the technology or need someone else to be in front of the camera, seek out a teenager! It may sound cliche, but teenagers grew up with the kind of technology we have today and tend to be a bit better at deciphering new features as a result! There’s also a good chance that they’re more comfortable in front of a camera or are able to explain the technology in a more meaningful way than strangers on online forums or in search results.

      4. Have fun!

This is your opportunity as a business owner to let loose and show the fun side of your livelihood! Have your staff participate in viral challenges, show off new features and attractions at your business, and bring your customers behind-the-scenes content they can’t get anywhere else!

When it comes to promoting your business via social media, there’s no clear-cut path to internet stardom or instant returns on your investment, but it’s important to get started before technology leaves you behind! We hope these tips help you get filming, but remember that the folks at TrustWorkz are always ready and able to help you with any of your digital marketing needs!
