User-Generated Content and Your Business

When it comes to promoting your business online, there’s only so much content you can create yourself! This is where content submitted by your customers comes into play! This type of content not only allows customers to feel seen by your business, but also shows potential customers that people enjoy your service enough to post about their experience. It’s important to monitor this content and make it work for your social plan, so let’s take a look at the types of user-generated content and different ways you can interact with it.

Platform posts about customer experience

These posts come from customers, often first-timers, who wish to share their experience at your business. They frequently include pictures, video, and a description of the services they enjoyed while visiting. Interacting with this type of content should include liking, commenting, and reposting from the main business page, which shows the customer you appreciate their feedback and value them!

Reviews on your official business page

For some social media websites, like Facebook, your business’s page can be reviewed by customers just like other platforms such as Yelp and Google. It’s important to monitor these reviews if you have them turned on for your page, and respond to all of them in a timely manner. Customers really value authenticity here, so try not to use the same response over and over, tailoring them to each review.

Mis-tagged content

Sometimes, customers will attempt to tag you on social media but for one reason or another the post will not make it to you. These posts are common, so it’s important to check social platforms for common misspellings, broken tags, and any nicknames your business may go by. This can help you locate extra content you didn’t know existed! You can also try searching your business’s name on social platforms to see if any extra posts show up.

Interacting with user-generated content as a business is one of the most important pieces of your social strategy, and ignoring customers online is not an option! Keep your eyes open, repost button ready, and positive attitude on hand for the depths of social media. Remember, TrustWorkz is always here to help with any and all of your social media concerns!
